In the media
What other people have written about Bob.
None of this was written by the campaign. Every link goes to the publisher, not to a copy we made, so you can read the whole thing and judge it yourself.
A campaign quoting a flattering half-sentence from an article and hoping you don't look up the rest is an old trick. The list below is the whole file — every piece of reporting we know about, in date order, including the ones that are not about the campaign at all. If something is missing, tell us and it goes on.
Every link on this page was opened and checked on September 19, 2026. Outside links break over time; if one of these has gone dead, that is worth telling us about too.
The campaign
Who is Bob Blosser? Here's what the independent candidate for Rockford mayor is focused on
Rock River Current · September 14, 2026 · Kevin Haas
The most substantial piece written about this campaign, and the one to read if you only read one. Permitting times, Flock cameras, home rule, apprenticeships, data centers, the budget shortfall and how the campaign is financed — most of what is on Where I stand was said out loud to a reporter first.
Here's who wants to be Rockford's next mayor
Rockford News First · September 4, 2026, updated since · Laura Neuzil
A running roundup of everyone in the race, not a piece about Bob. It is here because you should be able to find the other candidates from this website without hunting for them, and because it lays out the official timetable: a consolidated primary on February 23, the election on April 6, and the winner sworn in on May 3, 2027 to finish a term that runs to 2029.
Bennie's Cleaners owner Bob Blosser explores running for Rockford mayor
Rockford News First · August 5, 2026 · Daniel Burbank
The first interview, filmed days after Tom McNamara announced he was stepping down and before there was a campaign to speak of. Worth reading as a record of what Bob said at the very start, including a sharp remark about another candidate that the reporter put in the piece.
Before there was a campaign
These two predate the candidacy. Nobody was talking to a candidate when they were written, which is exactly what makes them useful.
Art-centric cafe and event space coming to downtown Rockford
Rock River Current · April 27, 2026 · Kevin Haas
Three months before the mayor's office came open. The subjects are Bob's daughters, Tatianna Salisbury and Zolna Blosser, who are opening a cafe and event space at 130 N 1st St, next door to the shop. Bob is in the photographs, selling a piece of art at ArtScene.
Fall ArtScene shows off galleries of art in Rockford
WIFR / Rockford News First · October 15, 2022
Four years before any of this. Bob explains the difference between the Friday crowd and the Saturday crowd at ArtScene, and mentions that the room above the shop had been a venue for twenty-four years at that point. It is a small piece about a gallery walk, and that is the point of including it.
The public record
Not coverage. These are the places where the committee's own filings live, kept by people who do not work for this campaign and cannot be asked to take anything down.
Illinois State Board of Elections — campaign disclosure search
The authoritative record: the committee, its officers, who gave it money and what it spent. Search for Committee to elect Bob Blosser for Mayor of Rockford. If what you find there ever contradicts what this website says, the Board is right and we have a correction to make.
Illinois Election Data — latest filings
An independent site that lists new filings as they hit the Board, which is often faster to search than the Board's own interface. Not a government source; useful for seeing what was filed and when.
City of Rockford — the mayor's resignation and the special election
The city's own announcement, and the plainest answer to why there is an election at all in 2027 rather than 2029.

How this page works
Three rules, so that this stays a list and does not quietly turn into an advertisement.
- Everything goes on, not just the good bits. If a reporter writes something unflattering and it is a fair piece of work, it belongs on this list the same as the rest.
- No pull-quotes. We link the headline and describe the piece. We do not lift the one nice sentence out of an article and put it on a poster.
- Their words stay theirs. These links go to the publications themselves. The campaign does not host copies, does not edit them, and has no say in what they contain.
