Who's with Bob

An Independent doesn't get handed a coalition. He has to be given one.

There is no party organisation behind this campaign, which means there is no list of officials who were told to be on it. What there is instead is a growing number of Rockford residents willing to put their name next to Bob's in public.

Adding your name is not a donation and not a vote. It is a neighbour saying, out loud, that this candidate is worth a look.

Where this stands today

This campaign is not going to pad this page. Two rules govern it:

  • No name appears here without written permission. Not a customer, not a neighbour, not somebody who said something friendly at a door.
  • No organisation is listed as endorsing until its own board or membership has voted to do it. An individual member's support is an individual's support, and it gets described that way.

That is a slower page than the alternative. It is also the only version of this page worth reading.

Published endorsements: none yet. This section is updated as permissions come in, and each entry carries the date it was added.

Add your name

Two required fields. You choose whether it is public.

Required, because this is where the confirmation goes.
Optional. It tells us which ward you're in. We don't share it or sell it.
Optional. If you give permission below, this may be published next to your name.

A person reads these and a person replies. What we do with your information.

Worth more than a name

If you are willing to be public, three things are worth more than a line on this page:

  • A yard sign. Ten dollars, and it starts a conversation with everyone who walks past it.
  • Carrying a petition sheet. An afternoon, mostly spent talking to neighbours.
  • Telling ten people the election is April 6. In a low-turnout municipal election that is not a small contribution.
